This chunky hand knitted Purple and heather gray cowl, scarf, is made of soft thick, acrylic yarn, with a Spalted Maple Wood Decorative button, and fringe, for warmth and style. Just slip this on over your head, for a warm cozy feeling without the bulk of a long scarf. Handmade in Vermont, by me (Elise). 
The one of a kind button is made of forest salvaged, Vermont maple wood, by Jedd, of Kettler Woodwork. The distinctive dark spalting colors and lines and freeform shape make this button truly unique. Finished with completely natural, 100% pure tung oil, the button is soft to touch but durable enough to hold up to years of use.
 
For proper care, Avoid harsh cleaners or soaking in water. Do Not machine wash.
Wash by hand and lay flat to dry to protect the shape and lifespan of your cowl. I include a plastic shield that can be slipped under the button, while the cowl is drying, to keep it drier, so it lasts even longer.
 
Please note that this is a handmade, so it is normal and expected to notice some slight variation in the color of the yarn. This adds charm and character to your handmade item.

A relative told me that the heather purple and gray color of this yarn reminds her of the mountains she can see from her home in Tucson, (purple mountains majesty).
